Types of data we collect

Personal Information
When you purchase a ticket (or tickets) through MatterPay, your name, address, email, contact number and any additional information that you have supplied will be stored in our ticket order database. This Information can be accessed only by the Event Organiser from which you purchased your tickets, in order to carry out their business, and by us in order to provide support for Event Organisers and Customers. The Event Organiser from which you purchase tickets is the Data controller for the information collected. MatterPay stores and processes this data to enable Event Organisers to provide their services and to send marketing material to you (if you opt-in).Log Data

What we do with your data

Direct communications
We may use your Personal Information to contact you on behalf of the Event Organiser. This may include transactional emails, tickets that you have purchased and updates about cancellations, changes to or further information regarding events for which you have purchased tickets.Identification
Event Organisers may use your Personal Information in order to identify you when attending an event to ensure that you are authorised to access the venue. This is for the safety of others at the event and to verify that you are the ticket holder.Marketing communications
If you have chosen to opt-in to marketing communications from the Event Organiser then they may also contact you with newsletters, marketing or promotional materials and other information that the Event Organiser deems relevant to you.

Disclosing your Information to Others

We may share your information with trusted companies who process Personal Information for MatterPay, exclusively for the purposes of enabling our services to function. We will not share your information for any purpose other than as necessary to operate our products and services. Data processors that we work with are located within the European Economic Area and the United States, where processors also hold the Privacy Shield certification.

Types of companies that we disclose your data to:
  • Email service providers for transactional emails and tickets.
  • Error logging and consolidation services for improving our services.
  • Database server providers to store order information.
  • Document generation providers to create ticket PDF files.
  • Backup and disaster recovery providers.

Security

We take precautions to protect your information. When you submit sensitive information via the website, your information is protected both online and offline. However, no method of transmission over the Internet, or method of electronic storage, is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your Personal Information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security. Should we identify a breach in which we believe your Personal Information has been accessed or could be accessed, we will notify you within 72 hours.We do NOT store financial details, wherever we request this sensitive information (such as credit card data), it is transferred securely from you to Stripe, our tier one PCI compliant payment processor.Your personal information is encrypted and transmitted to us securely. You can verify this by looking for "https" at the beginning of the website address in your browser. The servers on which we store personally identifiable information are kept in a secure environment and all data held within these databases is encrypted using modern encryption standards.
