You might recognise Stacey's name as author of the Sunday Times bestseller and Richard and Judy Book Club pick, "The Familiars", which was a mastery of mystery and witchcraft. Her new novel "The Foundling" is released next month. It's a gripping story set in the 1700s, inspired by a visit to The Foundling Museum in Coram Fields which documents the history of all the children who grew up in the Foundling Hospital because they were at risk of abandonment.
To celebrate the book's release we have invited Stacey to share her thoughts with us at Gerrards Cross.
To give you a feel for the book, here is a brief synopsis of "The Foundling": London, 1754. Six years after leaving her illegitimate daughter Clara at London's Foundling Hospital, Bess Bright returns to reclaim the child she has never known. Dreading the worst - that Clara has died in care - the last thing she expects to hear is that her daughter has already been reclaimed - by her. Her life is turned upside down as she tries to find out who has taken her little girl - and why.
