Gift a Book 2019

Location

Chorleywood & Gerrards Cross Bookshops

Event description

This Christmas Chorleywood and Gerrards Cross Bookshops are giving back and we need your help to do it! To read is one of the greatest joys we have but sadly not every child has access to the wonderful books that we take for granted. That’s why Chorleywood and Gerrards Cross Bookshops started Gift a Book, as a way of giving children in Herts and Bucks a new book to love and cherish at Christmas.

We launched Gift a Book three years ago and we were delighted to have had more than 1000 books purchased during the three years, which were then donated to local children.

Here's what you do...

  1. Select the Gift a Book ticket on the right hand side of the screen.

  2. Then you have the option to donate £5.00, £10.00, £20.00 (or more) to our Gift a Book program. Then click buy ticket!

  3. You will be taken to the 'Order Summary' page. In the comment box you can write which book it is you'd like to purchase or if you leave it blank one of our bookshop team will select a book for you.

  4. And that's it! You will have donated a book to a disadvantaged child this Christmas from the comfort of your sofa or desk!

OR

If you would like to pop into the shop and pick a books for a child aged 0 to 12 years, one of our helpful bookshop staff will be there to help!

This year Gift a Book will be liaising with local organisations and charities. All of which offer support and provide many necessities to remarkable children under twelve years of age. Including Bucks Young Carers and Wycombe Women's Aid.

Please note if you have chosen a specific title and the title is not £10.00 the remaining money will go back into the Gift a Book organisation and will be used towards another great read for an underprivileged child. Also most organisations require the books before the end of November, any books collected afterward this date will be saved for next year.
