The Big Cat Craft Session with Emma Lazell: Chorleywood

Location

BB's Play Cafe, New Parade, Chorleywood, Rickmansworth, UK

Event description

Emma Lazell, a rising star of the picture book world, is celebrating national bookshop day with a Craft and Storytelling session.

Big Cat is The Tiger Who Came to Tea for the 21st century. Except in this case, the tiger doesn't just come to tea, he comes for breakfast, lunch and dinner too - in fact he moves in!

Isobel's grandma has lost her glasses and she can't see a thing without them. While Isobel and Gran are in the garden searching for the specs, they come across a very big cat. The big cat moves in, but he takes up lots of space and eats every scrap of food.

A heartwarming and surreal romp, packed with jokes and funny details and with an underlying message of acceptance. Emma's bright colours and brilliant characterisation gives the book the look of a classic with a modern sense of humour and sensibility.
