We're delighted to welcome Colin Thackery, also known as the Chelsea Pensioner, winner of last year's Britain's Got Talent. At the ripe old age of 89, he is the competition's older winner.

Colin has written his Autobiography: "My Story: How Love Changed Everything" which is a tale of war, triumph, resilience and hope, but most of all, it’s a story of everlasting love.

Not always an angel, in 1945 a policeman gave Colin the choice to either go to Borstal or join the army. He chose the latter and, whilst on a posting to Durham, he met Joan, the love of his life.

In 2016, after having previously beaten cancer, Joan passed away. Devastated, Colin decided to become a Chelsea Pensioner. Following one of their regular curry nights where he entertained fellow residents with a song, he was persuaded to sign up to Britain’s Got Talent. Little did he know what was about to happen!
